Switch and socket boxes manufactured from
galvanized steel and PVC dry lining boxes
suitable for domestic and commercial applications,
for the mounting of any flush accessory.
Switch and socket boxes are used to house
13 amp switches and socket outlets as well
as a range of other control devices and
telecom sockets. They may be flush, semi-flush
or surface mounted types and there are dry
liner boxes for installation in plasterboard.
Since there is no common European plug,
socket and wiring system, each European
state continues to manufacture to its own
National standard. In Britain the standard
for switch and socket boxes is BS4662 which
in turn complements the plug and socket
standard BS1363. BS4662 is a dimensional
and material standard and is about to be
revised mainly to include the dry liner
boxes. |
